Today I did a little traveling… Inspired by another book by Sibella Court, “Nomad”. In her book, she traveled for a year and documented the styles, colors, influences and stories of each area.
I love the layout of this book. It reminds me of my days (way back) when I was in the design field and we put story boards together for our clients. This was before computers, or digital anything (I know I’m old!).
But those boards were my first introduction to mixed media in a way. I would layer fabrics, pictures of furniture, tiles, all the things to bring a room to life. And it was one of my most favorite parts of the job.
I took a trip down memory lane and realized that that was the start of my creative journey. It has lead me in so many different directions…. and then to right where I am today.
There were times that I thought that I didn’t make the best choices on my journey but now… I wouldn’t change a thing.
So trust your journey, even when it doesn’t feel like it’s the place you “thought” you’d be. It all serves a purpose.
I hope you enjoy the project and my attempt to create with that story board idea from back then.
And always remember YOU are loved!
