Today I’m continuing my challenge to use up my collage papers.

You can also join this challenge. I have all the details and the color palettes to download in the Subscriber Library and in the Membership.

I had fun today with this color palette and the shape chosen for today is circles. I actually got to use up quite a good bit of collage paper today. It’s always so fun to just rummage through the boxes of papers.

I also love figuring out the color palette and mixing just the right color (or getting close).

I think the thing I love the most about this challenge (besides using up my paper) but it allows me to let go and just play. To not have a specific plan, subject or idea, but to just show up and create like a child.

I’ll share more details about the challenge in the video. Have fun watching!

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!
