I think we forget sometimes that our journals are a document of our life. I can turn to any page, in any journal, even some that are 8 years old and know exactly what was happening during that time.
It helps us remember our journey, our story, our life. And because there’s ultimate freedom in our journals we can really be ourselves.
Our journals also helps us truly appreciate the things we’ve gone through, or should I say made it through. It’s a reminder that we kept going and are stronger for it.
Our journals help us relive beautiful moments and cement them in our memories.
Our journals help us express what we can’t say with words.
Our journals are us…. our soul…. on the page. And my journals are like gold to me. They’re a time capsule.
When my studio flooded a couple of years ago…. as I rushed into the water…. I went straight past, the supplies, the original art working floating in the water and gathered my journals and cried over the one that had been water logged.
Our journals are an intimate place to be without any judgement.
I hope you make time to create in your journal this summer and take some time to slow down and just be yourself. And if you don’t have a working journal…. maybe this is you season to start. It’s sooo good for the soul.
Enjoy watching the video and always know that you are loved!
