How I find inspiration and follow it Part 2 8-4-24

Today we’re continuing this series of finding inspiration and we’re following it.

Last week’s video I showed you how I break a creative block, with lot’s of ideas you can try. You can watch that video here.

Today I’ll take these pieces almost home. And when I say almost …. I thought they were done, until I stepped away from them for a bit. So next week I’ll show you some ways to add the last bit of pizzaz to finish them, with no fear involved!

Today, I followed the inspiration, always looking for a spark from what was right in front of me. I could see the flowers, but knew that I wanted them to have some depth, so adding collage paper to them would do the trick. I actually added a lot of collage throughout.

Enjoy the process and I’ll see you next week for the finishing touches. And always know that you are loved!

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 30 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul.
