3 easy steps to start creating mixed media 9-1-24

Today I share 3 easy steps to get creating. And this can work for any style, but of course we’re creating mixed media with all the yumminess of layers.

Feeling lost for ideas as I was trying to create for today’s video… I decided to follow my go to steps… and it always works.

It may not be a masterpiece, or even a finished project. But the point of our creative time is to feed our souls. And this piece did just that.

I’ll share all about the steps in the video. Have fun watching and always know that you are loved!

Supplies used:

  1. 8×10 wood panel
  2. Collage paper
  3. Liquitex fluid matte medium
  4. Liquitex black gesso and white
  5. Acrylic paint – Olive green, titan buff
  6. Golden Paynes gray and raw umber
  7. Generals Charcoal pencil, White soft pastel pencil, black soft pastel stick
  8. Fan brush, 1/2″ flat brush
