Today we’re continuing our collage paper challenge. Can you believe we’re on #7!
Today’s color palette was a bit of a challenge and took some experimenting to get the right colors. But that’s part of the fun and a good chance to grow.
The focus was letters and numbers… which I love in my work. So I did a lot of gel prints with some new letter and number stencils in the shop. I was itching to do some gel printing so this was perfect for this journal page.
I love the play in our journals, and got lost in the layers!

Supplies used:
- Handmade journal
- Liquitex matte gel
- Liquitex gesso black
- Acrylic paint – Golden so flat raw umber, Grumbacher – hookers green, Liquitex basic naples yellow, Liquitex burnt umber gouache or soft body acrylic
- Acrylic paint – House paint in my bottles – burnt sienna, cad yellow, dark teal, matte black, titan buff, pure white
- Gel press gel plate 12×12, Brayer
- Collage paper
- General’s charcoal pencil set, Koh-I-Noor Artist’s soft pastel pencil set
