In today’s project, I had a few ideas … but really what I needed to do was to let go and get some things out.

I’d written in my journal things I was afraid to say out loud… and I wanted to express those things in this piece. So I let go and made a mess… played and got it out.

I just did the next right thing, whatever that felt like in the moment. Not thinking about the end result but allowing myself to just make a mess.

It felt so good!

Supplies used:

11×14 Canson mixed media paper 98lb
Collage paper
Liquitex fluid matte medium
Liquitex gesso black and white
Liquite carbon black spray paint
Liquitex acrylic ink – deep violet & Quin magenta
Acrylic paint – green gold, unbleached titanium
Brayer
Clear plastic (page protector)
Soft pastel sticks (Soho urban artist soft pastels)
Fine line applicator 20 gauge with white acrylic & Airbrush medium
Generals charcoal pencil (ex. soft), mechanical pencil
Palette knife (set), makeup sponge
1″flat brush, 1/4″ flat brush, white tape for edges
