I had so much fun with all the layers of this piece. I was inspired by a couple of things this week. I was looking through a floral book thinking about what I would create.

I originally thought about an abstract floral, but was mesmerized by the grungy, yummy walls behind the floral arrangements.

I was also thinking about my journal time this week and my words about stillness.  So I used both to inspire this piece. I’ll share more about it in the video.

Supplies used:

• 16×20 canvas
• Liquitex fluid matte medium
• Liquitex gesso black and white
• Utrecht gesso
• collage paper
• Golden SoFlat-raw umber
• Golden Paynes gray
• Acrylic paint in pale pink and olive green
• Soft pastels sticks (Soho urban artist soft pastels) and Generals charcoal pencil (ex. soft)
• Palette knife (Palette knife set), 1″flat brush, Medium round brush (Round brush in different sizes)
