I can’t wait to share this technique with you! We will create gel plate-like prints without the gel plate!
These papers are so grungy and yummy. And because I used wet strength and medical exam paper, they are mostly transparent.
This is such a simple process with just a few supplies. I did use a lot of my favorite stencils and I just love how they turned out.
The hardest part of this is waiting for them to dry… I’m so impatient and want to see the results. But, patience will give you a better outcome.
I hope you get lots of ideas because this is just one way that we can use this technique. There will be many more experiments and see how creative I can get.

- Liquitex fluid matte medium
- Brown freezer paper
- Any kind of acrylic – fluid, high flow, regular paint, craft paint, acrylic ink
