How to create simple mixed media texture 10-25-25

Today, we are creating easy mixed media texture, with simple supplies and tools. These four examples were done so quickly and yet are so yummy!

I got the idea to create a series of how to create different types of texture and texture making from one of the members in the Mixed Media Insider Membership. I thought it was a fabulous idea, so this is the first one! Once a month I will share a new technique. I’m also creating a texture journal which I share in the video that all of my experimenting will go into.

One of the points that the member shared when she was sharing this idea is that, she has a texture journal so that she can go back to her experiments. She uses it to get ideas when she feels stuck for ideas…. and that is perfect! I have so many journals of all my experimenting, but unbelievably, I didn’t have a texture journal 😳. Not sure how that’s possible, so it starts today!

Copy Paper
Liquitex professional gesso
Brayer
Palette knife (Palette knife set)
Silicone shaper
Credit card
Golden High Flow – raw umber
Acrylic paint – Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna, Vine, Dark Teal, Prism Violet, Quin Magenta
