This week, as I sat down to create Sunday Inspiration… I just felt tired.
You know that feeling? When there’s family stuff weighing on your heart, the holiday hustle is already starting, and you’re just not feeling it? That was me. And honestly? I wasn’t being very kind to myself either. I was saying all the things I tell my students NOT to say – that inner critic was having a field day.
But then something shifted during my journaling session. (I always write before I create)
As I wrote, I started flipping the script on all that negative self-talk. And one phrase just poured out of me: “You are made of magic.”
The moment I wrote those words, I sat up straighter in my chair. I actually nodded to myself – like I was shooing all that negativity away. Because it was TRUE. And if it was true for me in that moment, it’s true for you too.
That’s when I knew the direction of what my journal page needed to be about. The words were clear, but I still wasn’t sure about the design. Should I use paper? Definitely. Flowers? Yes, because they make me happy. But beyond that…
So I did what I always do when I’m not sure – I used my favorite technique to audition some ideas and patterns. And before I knew it, I was off and running, creating something truly meaningful and encouraging.
In today’s video, I’ll walk you through the process technique that helped me create without fear. You’ll see exactly how I approach a page when I’m feeling stuck, and learn some simple ways to get beautiful elements on your page even when you’re not feeling your most creative.
Maybe you need a little cheering on today. Maybe you need to write your own encouraging words. Maybe you just need to remember that there’s an easy way to create something beautiful without fear.
I want to remind you just how much magic you carry, and show you exactly how to get it onto the page. Enjoy the process and always know that you are loved!
