We’re rolling right along in our texture-making series, and today’s video feels like opening a little treasure tucked away in your supply stash. I’m sharing one simple, everyday item that creates the most deliciously grungy layers—honestly, the kind that make you lean in closer and say, “Wait… that came from that?” And I’m willing to bet you already have it hiding somewhere in your art drawer.
This humble supply can be used in a hundred different ways, and in the video, I’ll walk you through three of my favorites. Then we’ll slip into a quick, meaningful journal page together—nothing fancy, just a gentle creative moment that leads somewhere deeper.
As I built the layers for the page, something unexpected unfolded… a quiet little journey. Each mark and texture reminded me of the layers we carry in our own lives—the tender ones, the bold ones, the joyful, and the gritty ones. All of them are stacking and weaving to make us who we are.
Those layers aren’t just art—they’re you. And you, in all your textured, beautiful realness, are pretty extraordinary.
Enjoy the process and always know that you are loved 🥰
