I always love creating the very last page of my journal. It feels like a gentle pause—a chance to look back on the year as a whole. The highs, the lows, and all the quiet moments in between.
This page is also where I reflect on my word for the year, which was Release. My intention was to let go of the things that were never really in my control to begin with. Some days I did better than others—and that’s okay. Along the way, as I looked up the meaning of release, the word freedom kept showing up right alongside it. Little by little, I began to lean into that word instead. It felt lighter. More open. Especially when I thought about freedom in my art.
I created a lot this year that no one has seen—art that was just for me. Art that gave me permission to loosen my grip, release perfection, and be a little wild… or at least wilder than my comfort zone usually allows.
That sense of freedom didn’t stay confined to my art, either. I began exploring new things in life—trying what once felt uncomfortable or intimidating. And to my surprise, something shifted. A quiet courage started to rise to the surface.
I have a feeling that freedom will always be part of my vocabulary—both in art and in life. I’m still learning. Still growing. And I’m okay taking it one step at a time. 💛
I hope you get a chance to reflect on the year. Go easy on yourself and celebrate the wins, the little things.
I’m so grateful that you continue to share this journey with me. So many of you have been here from the beginning. I hope that next year will be a more purposeful growth, feeling grounded in grace and gratitude. Wishing you a very meaningful new year.
