Today we’re going to look for clues… little clues that help guide us toward what to create, how to create, and how to spark those ideas that get us moving again.
In today’s Studio Time video — a new series I’ve created — I’m inviting you behind the scenes into my studio to see a bit of my creative chaos and the way ideas begin to unfold.
Truthfully, much of my time as an artist is spent searching for those clues. They rarely show up all at once, and they almost never arrive when I’m trying to force them. Instead, they appear when I’m exploring… when I’m willing to follow old ideas, new ideas, tiny inklings, and even the experiments that may or may not work out.
The clues often appear when I allow myself to flesh out those creative thoughts and simply try things. Nothing is off limits during this stage. We have to be willing to dive in, play, and see where the process takes us.
And very often, it’s during this exploration — when something doesn’t go quite the way we planned — that something completely unexpected and wonderful begins to appear. Those little surprises are often the next clue leading us forward.
So if you’ve been feeling a little stuck lately, or searching for a spark of inspiration, I hope this video encourages you to start looking for your own creative clues… and that one of them might be the thing that gets you moving again.
Have fun watching and always know that you are loved!
