The longer I am an artist, the more I realize that one of the greatest gifts I can give my creativity is the freedom to experiment. That’s where the magic lives… in the trying, the exploring, the unexpected turns. It’s in those moments that joy sneaks in, little “aha” sparks appear, and inspiration begins to glow.
There are days when I sit down just to experiment, and by the time I’m done, I feel lighter… more energized… and full of fresh ideas. It’s like something shifts, and I’m reminded why I love this creative life so much.
I’ve come to notice that about 70% of my time is spent in that space of exploration, and only about 30% is focused on finishing a piece. And honestly… that feels right. Because without those moments of play, I wouldn’t discover what I love, how I want to express myself, or the stories quietly waiting to come through.
So today, in this Studio Time video, I’m inviting you to come along with me into that experimental space. My hope is that it gently encourages you to loosen your grip on the need to “finish.” That will come… in its own time. But first, we play. We explore. We create simply for the joy of it.
Let’s embrace our inner mad scientist today and see what unfolds.
Enjoy the process… and always remember, you are so very loved.
