Today I’m sharing 3 journal pages I’ve made in my journal for Molly. The more I create these little pages, the more I look forward to it. It’s my conversations with her. My time to see her face and hold her hand, if only in my mind.
The sorrow is still there, the tears still come, but something else is happening inside me… I can’t yet put words to it, but I just know there is a shift within me.
The other thing that’s happening is that I enjoy the simplicity of these pages. They only take me 15 or 20 minutes, and I enjoy the process of not caring how they turn out, just that I showed up with a purpose.
I have a renewed joy from the feeling of freedom in these tiny, heartfelt conversations, and I’m reminded again that grief and joy can exist together.
I hope that if you need a jolt of joy, or are feeling lost or stuck. Create something small, with whatever is right in front of you, and let it be what it is. Embrace the imperfections and remind yourself that you were brave enough to step up to the table.
Have fun watching and always know that you are loved!
