I’m on a mission to create the yummiest, grungiest collage papers I can imagine… and let me tell you, it’s been so much fun!

Right now, I’m choosing projects that feel easy, playful, and full of joy. I think that’s exactly what we need sometimes—to stay inspired, to make it through the hard seasons, or simply to find our way back to the creative table.

The best part about experimenting is that there’s no pressure. You just play, stay curious, and see what happens. And somehow, those little moments of play are often where the best ideas begin.

This week I pulled out all kinds of things to experiment with—plastic wrap, sheet protectors, alcohol with watercolors, and of course, my favorite grungy raw umber. I also spent some time exploring analogous color palettes, watching the colors blend and surprise me in the best ways.

In this video, I’ll walk you through each step of the process and show you how these messy little experiments came together. Then next week, we’re going to use these beautiful papers to create some small abstract pieces… and I can’t wait!

So this week, I hope you’ll give yourself permission to play. Try something new. Make a mess. Experiment without worrying about the outcome. Sometimes the most wonderful ideas are hiding inside those simple moments of curiosity.
