If I have one hope for myself right now, it’s this… to breathe in peace. To gently let go of the weight I’ve been carrying. To find that quiet sanctuary within me that feels lighter, freer, and safe.
I’ve realized that I find that peace in the simplest of places. It happens in the paint splatters and the curiosity. It happens when I read, then pray, then write, then paint.
Not always in that order.
But somehow it all comes together in this little studio that asks nothing of me except to show up. It has become my safe place. A place where the noise softens, my heart settles, and I begin to feel like myself again.
It’s where I remember to breathe.
This week we’re continuing the journey we started last week, using the collage papers we created in our playful experiments to make small, meaningful abstracts.
People often ask why I create these little studies. The answer is simple: because everything I make, whether it’s a painted paper, a journal page, or a finished piece, carries a little piece of my story. Every layer holds a thought, a prayer, a question, or a moment from this season of life.
That’s why this creative life is so precious to me.
My studio has become one giant journal. Instead of writing with words, I’ve written it with paint.
And somewhere between the layers, the marks, and the colors… I breathe in peace and breathe out fear.
I hope you enjoy the process this week. More than anything, I hope you discover your own story in the things you create, because your art doesn’t have to be perfect to be meaningful. It simply has to be honest.
