I thought I would share with you real quick some pics from the house.  I finally had some time off and with cooler weather (75 degrees, it’s Phoenix) I thought I would get the fall stuff out and decorate. So here ya go…

decor-by-door

So as you come into the house, I have put out pumpkins and fall flowers etc,on the porch and you have already seen the wreath that I made for the front door.

decor-by-door-inside

Right inside the front door, I have an old door that I dug out of a dumpster (shocking I know).  I liquid nailed a shelf from goodwill on it and then aged it and waxed it. Painted the chalk board paint and it is one of my favorite pieces.  It has been in every room of the house depending on my mood :)….  I have a few chalk boards through out the house and over the years.. the kids have used them for notes… pictures…. (some not so appropriate) funny saying and my husband has recently gotten in on it.  So some days I never know what I fill find on the my chalk board… we will see how long this one stays…. here are a few examples of what I have found on my chalk board door….

The one on the left is from the kids… quotes from Zombieland and the one on the right is from my hubby!…. love it….

entryway-decor

as you come in the front door… this space is probably meant for a formal dining, living area… but there is nothing formal about us… so its a pool table, gaming… entertaining area.. so I decorated the bar area with more fall goodies.

kitchen-decor

The heart of the house is the kitchen, dining, great room area…   The harvest silver platter that I painted with chalk board paint and used an iron paint to rust it.  The platter was from the dollar store.  Every single pumpkin on the table is from the Dollar store, some burlap garland, fall stems… and it’s all set

Hope your having a great Sunday…..

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!
