Creations from the video, Questions, Pay what you can
Posted Sep 4, 2014

I’m excited to share with you one of the beautiful creations that one of our peeps has made from the Beyond the Basics video series. She has used many techniques from several of the videos. Just check out this masterpiece… I am sooo impressed! Thank you Sharon for sharing and I looking forward to many more!

On another note… I am placing my art in some cool boutiques in Phoenix, and I know that most of you who follow me don’t live in the area. So I thought I would ask if you have a cool shop, boutique, that place that you love to go to, to get gifts etc. If you do and you think my art would be a good fit in that shop, would you email me the name and location, that way I can contact them and see if they would be interested is my stuff. Then you could buy from a local business and support your neighborhood businesses and get my art at the same time. Just send me an email at or leave a message…

On a second note….. I was bouncing ideas off my friend about putting a catalog together for new shops and then thought that the catalog idea was to outdated and I should do something via the internet, but she made a good point… she said that she would like to have a catalog to take to work, because people ask about her art that she has at her office all the time and some have even ordered. She would put it in the lunch room.  I thought that was a great idea and thought maybe you would like one too, to place in the lunchroom or bulletin board or just to show friends… any way…. let me know if you do and I can send you one. 🙂

Ok…now pay what you can

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!
