Tons of Texture Play day

Last week’s Play Day I found some flower petals in my stash of stuff and decided to play with them…. Today I finished them up.

I used gesso and matte medium to put these petals down in my journal

I sprayed with Media Misters Acrylic paint

When I put the petals down I scratched into the gesso creating marks and then after the paint on the flowers was dry I aged with an umber wash.

Using black fluid paint I painted the words, painted the vines and did some circles. Then splattered with watered down titanium white.

I love how the paint lays in the grooves of the petals. I will be doing this again, now that I know what works best.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul.
