In today’s painting I wanted to paint my gratitude… This however was not my first attempt. The first piece I did, the camera didn’t record… I said a few not so nice words and had to chuckle at myself. Here I was wanting to share about gratitude and I was rolling around in negativity! .. aaannnd, the second piece turned out better than the first.
It was a great lesson in being grateful, sometimes things don’t go the way we planned or life outright breaks your heart and the burdens and brokenness seem unbearable. In the midst of the struggle, if we can find just one thing to be grateful for, it allows for the light to come in to the darkness. It starts the healing, it calms the frustration. Finding gratitude can seem daunting in the hardest of times.. but I have found that in the darkest of days, or the simple setbacks of everyday living, pausing to find gratitude creates a shift in me. One that always takes me to a better place. I hope you find something to be grateful for today!
