This original is available HERE

I love creating with modeling paste and crackle paint, because it slows me down. The process of apply and waiting for it to dry gives me peace and really calms my soul, which is just what I needed this week.

Using square background papers also added to all the texture and when you pull back the paint to reveal all the lovely layers it’s magic!

This piece was inspired by a field just around the corner from my house and how at just the right time, the divine showed up and gave me just what I needed to keep going.

I hope you enjoy the video and all the layers and the story of inspiration!

Supplies used:

8×10 mdf board, vintage papers, Deco Art Media – gesso, modeling paste, crackle paint, matte medium, Deco Art Media fluid acrylics – prussion blue hue, medium gray, raw umber, dyoxazine purple, palette knife

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your support and everything you ordered during the Holiday sale. I’m truly blessed to have you sharing the journey with me!

AND FYI ALL STENCILS HAVE BEEN RESTOCKED!

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!

I love this so much! I hope your. Prayers are to the Lord who brought the gift of
Jesus at this time of the year! You are so inspiring> Rest my sweet lady and thank you for the wonderful words and beautiful inspiring painting. I just found you and plan on painting with you this next year. I’m in a craft show that did not go well. I’m not in the right kind of venue. I am deciding to give most of it away to a Mission so I can clear out my art stuff and be able to breathe. I’m looking forward to getting with you soon. By the way, I have been painting for about fifty years. Maybe more. I am a hairdresser of 54 years experience, still working. Part, part time. Still love the ladies I’ve done for forty years. Thanks again!!!
