Let me tell you, I really fought with this project. I started it, got close to the end, then scrapped it, then started over. Then halfway through my second shot, I messed up the background. Luckily, all that did was add more texture under the layers. At the end, I really enjoy how the project turned out.
The substrate I am working on today is a decorative sign I found on clearance at Hobby Lobby. It cost about $1.75, so I bought 3 or 4 of them to upcycle. I also found some cool magnets to upcycle for $.75! I really love these clearance sections. You can find the most awesome things!
I hope you enjoy the process!
