This is my premier project for Shawn Petite’s 2020 Creative Team! My inspiration and symbolism is the bottle in the ocean. I saw the bottle as representing my many years in the bottle creating. Floating in a sea of opportunities that I couldn’t get to. I thought it would be cathartic to create a visualization of the feeling I had finally escaping out of the bottle. I escaped by practicing my skills and being brave to put myself out there so these opportunities, that were everywhere, could find me. I hope you enjoy the accompanying process video where I show creative ways to use Shawn Petite’s collage packs and stencils.
