When I first chose my stencils to start my term with the Shawn Petite Creative Team, this Deer 2 stencil completely stole my heart and I new I wanted to use it to create a piece with watercolors. See, I don’t have the confidence to draw freehand (something I’m working on) and I just envisioned this deer in watercolor with a crown of flowers so that’s what I’m sharing with you today. I love the freedom in watercolors – they have taught me to let go when I want to control everything. I have learned to love the beauty in the unexpected blooms, mixes and reactions as it takes a life of its own on the paper. Something that I’ve found permeate through my life outside of art. Who knew a medium could teach you so much? I hope you will enjoy this process video today and I look forward to creating more with you all this year!
