Whenever I go through a tough time I think of the sunflower…it stands tall and it looks to the light for it’s sustenance and growth. Something I recently learned: On cloudy days the sunflowers will look to each other and share energy. Which is what we can also do in tough times. Draw close to those we love and share energy until the storm passes.
One bummer with this project: my crackle paste didn’t crackle. I’m not sure why. It was fun to make vibrant painted papers with the Gelli Plate!

This one is just a bit too “invigorating” for my taste.
I look for your posts constantly because you are such a great inspiration to me! I love sunflowers and they do make me very happy. Whenever I see a field of them I must get out of my car and walk through the field. This year I took my eighty-eight year old mother and she walked through the field of sunflowers. I did like this piece of art work. Thank you for being you, and for sharing the products that you use, and the paper materials that you provide. I do use them and have learned so much from you. You are a fantastic teacher!
What is the paper used that the words are on? I can’t find a paper that blends into the background like that.
Leora, it’s tissue paper. Thanks for watching!
Hi, I love the colorful vibrancy of your artwork. I, too, love sunflowers. Can you tell me if the sunflower on tissue paper that you glued down in the beginning is a free printable anywhere? If so, where did you get it? I love the illustration.
Thanks for sharing.
