Faux gold leaf, crackle paste and texture sand Sunday inspiration 2-9-20

When I was describing this in the video I used the word happy way too much! But, come on this is just yummy and yes it makes me HAPPY!

When planning this piece I knew I wanted to use gold leaf, but didn’t have any, sooo I decided to make my own ‘Faux” gold leaf. I show you what I used and the experiments with products in real time.

Then I loaded it with crackle paste, crackle paint and texture sand and painted layer after layer of my favorite colors!

I also share how we are free to choose… choose how we respond in life, we get to choose how we show up in the world. Inspired by a quote by Viktor Frankl

“Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.

Freedom….. Yes!

Supplies used: 11×14 mdf board, gesso, Liquid metal – extreme sheen (for the gold leaf), Liquitex matte gel, super heavy gesso, Deco art fluid acrylic (quin gold, quin magenta, gray, carbon black, raw umber, paynes gray, prussian blue, titanium white, teal, Deco art media crackle paste, crackle paint, texture sand, Americana glazing medium, black soft pastel, collage paper and printed words
