I loved the creating of this piece. It was a project I had been planning for a bit but the creating of it snuck up on me.  The sentiment is something so many of us can relate to…Angels are often disguised as daughters. This piece was emotionally charged for me- not only as I shine with pride for my adult daughters who are with me but also for the ones who are not. Though time does not change the past and grief lingers 40 years later…healing does come. Each time I am able to sit close with my grief and my memories, a little more healing occurs. Creating this project was just one more time I was able to spend time in that place of sadness but also deep gratitude for my life and my family. I have 2 amazing daughters who are elementary school teachers and my heart bursts with pride at all that they are, what they are doing, who they are raising…they are exceptional humans. I am honored. I know that mother’s day can evoke a lot of mixed feelings, I know it does for me. I hope that you are able to be present with whatever place you are in and honor that. You are so precious and loved.
