I couldn’t wait to create with these new stencils…. I knew exactly what I wanted to create and the message that I needed to hear.

This is a super simple piece with very few supplies and some grungy goodness!

The quote is something that I wrote from my heart in my journal where I’m constantly trying to fill my mind and soul with good stuff.

The media and all the things can be overwhelmingly negative so I started asking myself what is beautiful in your journey today Shawn…… and I can always find one thing, if not tons of things to be grateful for.

Have you ever noticed that when you buy a new car or a pair of shoes you suddenly see those cars or shoes everywhere? It’s because that’s what we’re focused on.

And seeing the beauty is the same, ….. when we focus on that …. suddenly we start to see beauty all over the place…. like people helping people, the smiles on faces, the beautiful sunset… and on and on it goes…. I share more about it in the video.

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!
