Flowers in the spring are so amazing.  They make me happy and bring life and joy into the everyday.  I love to create art with florals and this piece was so much fun to create.  Using Shawn’s stencils makes art so much easier to create.  I use my stencils all the time and really enjoy them.

This week’s project combines a canvas that I created a background on months ago.  I decided to repurpose it into this week’s project.  Creating backgrounds is a great way to practice and stretch your creativity and I do it often.  I put them aside but always go back to them and finish them up into beautiful pieces.

For this piece, I used Shawn’s Lace, Farmhouse Pitcher, Lavender, and In the Garden stencils.  I have a nice stash of Shawn’s stencils now and I go to them often and mix them up together to create my art.

Enjoy the Video!!

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!
