It was a long journey to get to this piece for today’s Sunday video.
I spent hours playing with Liquitex spray paint on another piece only…. to get to the end and know that it wasn’t what I wanted. It didn’t represent exactly what I was feeling.
So as soon as I finished the first piece and gave myself a break, I then went back to work to excavate all that was happening inside of me.
I’ve struggled with anxiety this week for lots of reasons, but I had so many words inside of me, so much energy for what I wanted to say… but struggled to get it out.
One of the best things that always happens in the creative process even in pieces that don’t make the cut are the lessons.
When I went back to create this piece it came together in just about half an hour. I already knew what I liked from the first piece and what I didn’t.
There is never a time creating that doesn’t teach me something about myself or techniques.
I share more about this crazy journey in the video.
