Hello art friends!  I’m so excited to be here sharing a project using Shawn’s stencils today.  It is near and dear to my heart because fall is my favorite time of year.  I love the warm rich colors of fall home decor.  I live in Texas and after very hot summer’s, the cooler weather is a welcomed relief.  It’s also my favorite because December has always felt crazy busy for me with overtime at work and all the holiday activities.  So November is like the calm before the storm for me.

I have no decorative painting skills and could have never created a project like this without the help of stencils and the collage paper I used.  The basic technique was stenciling and then painting over the stenciled images. Beginner friendly, but time-consuming painting all the little flowers.  I hope you are inspired to create a fall project of your own!  If you are, please share with me on Instagram #inspiredbypaperliciousdesigns or link me in an email

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!
