It was playtime …. I love the casualness of my journal and how it just feels different when I’m creating in it as opposed to on canvas or wood.
In today’s project, I wanted to do something unexpected. To step outside the box (for me) and so I added a flap for a secret place to journal and to add to the message of the page.
I can’t remember if I have ever done this before, but it was fun and I can’t wait to do it again. I know so many artists that add so many wonderful things like tip-ins, flaps, or pockets and I just love them so I thought that I’d give it a try.
It was also perfect for the story and message of the page. I share all about it in the video.

I love this spread with the secret space! Simply gorgeous! Love your courage to be vulnerable. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Denise…. I’ve learned that in my vulnerability I learn and grown. Thanks for being here and sharing the journey with me!
What tool do you use to stencil with? Is it a sponge or a felt pad or cloth?
When I stencil with paint I use a makeup sponge that I get from the dollar store. When I stencil with and ink stamp pad I use a make up brush that comes in a set from amazon. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
Very inspirational!
Thank you so much, Cynthia!
