Hi, I am so happy to be here again with our creative team.  First of all, I want to thank you for your support, your comments, and likes, it means a lot to me, keeps me inspired and motivated.

For today’s project, I decided to create something simple and easy to do.  We love to spend time creating, painting, or collaging but we’re women, we’re mothers, we’re wives, we don’t always have physically the time for making things.

It’s true that as long as I finish my daily practice, it doesn’t matter how much time I spent in my studio, I feel like I am at peace with myself and relaxed. Let’s called it our self-care time.

Journaling has soon become a “can’t do without” practice for me and in this project, we can do it in many stages, one day preparing our surface, another choosing and trimming subjects to add, and the last one, finishing passages and embellishing.

I immediately fell in love with these two collage packs “Persian Patterns” and “Ornate alphabet” and already got new ideas on where to use them  (because practicing is like that, the more you do the more you got) but we’ll see it later.

  Enjoy the Video!

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!
