I haven’t created an angel in a while, but I felt like I needed an angel of compassion. I love how I created the wings as a collage element, and keeping the background simple with inks really makes the angel the star.
I needed a reminder this week….to be compassionate not only to others but to myself. Sometimes when we’re struggling with anything, we can be so hard on ourselves.
I know for me I can add a layer of guilt and shame to an already tired heart. And what happens in the process is I become less compassionate for others.
So compassion has to start with our own souls, a touch of grace and shouting away guilt and shame. That will then allow us to give more of all the things that the world, our workplaces, and our families so desperately need right now.
I share more about all of it in the video. Have fun watching!

I wondered why the deals were starting so early this year! Thanks for sharing that. Makes sense with the way things have been going with mail delivery. I just adore your angel pieces. They are my favorite. Love the colors on this one. There’s something about her face that as you were creating I could see (even though you didn’t add facial features) her head is sort of bowed in humility. At least that’s what I see. A friend of mine years ago used to say to me repeatedly: “You can’t give what you haven’t got”. I hear her in my head repeating that just when I need to hear it most. Today she spoke again to me through you. Peace to you.
