Today is a giant experiment! And I love it! Today’s inspiration for my year of curiosity is Uppercases’ Encyclopedia of Inspiration– Print/Maker. I love all the inspiration from Uppercase.
I love the look of printmaking with the subtle imperfections and shading, plus I love how it feels graphic and playful. My favorites are the fonts…. just the blocks of letters are a work of art. But…I don’t have the patience for carving so I thought I would try to get some sort of print look with my gel plate.
All of my fonts, images and patterns are all printed with my gel plate and I love it. I love the playful feel and the graphic look.
I can’t wait to share this process with you.
The quote on this piece is one I’ve had on my desk for a while. I was waiting for the right project to use it and THIS is the one. I love the quote because so often friends and family (and even ourselves) can think that we are limited to what we can do by what we’ve done in the past. We put ourselves, or allow others to put us, in a box. With words like “I’ve NEVER done that before”, or “YOU can’t do that”. Or “why would you do THAT?”
Some might not like the fact that you’re growing and changing, because they’re not growing and changing.
I share much more about this in the video and I even inspired myself!
Have fun watching and always know that YOU are loved.
