Today is all about taking risks. And how it didn’t go as planned.
I shared this week about looking for inspiration for abstract florals and found only a few that spoke to me. One was Georgia O’Keeffe’s work.
There were many things I liked and many that I didn’t but I decided to take a risk and be curious as I have all year because curiosity always leads to new discoveries.
And this one sure did. I did a practice mock-up in my journal (which I share with you) and then I took that play time to a larger canvas. And it went all kinds of wrong. To the point that I scraped all the paint off and started over.
So what do you do when things don’t go as planned? You have a couple of options. Abandon the work, accept it as it is, or start asking yourself questions.
I chose the questions because I know that all of this is teaching me something.
Taking risks is never easy, and we have to be willing to not be good…. to get better.
But I’d rather take the risk than play it safe. I’ll share more in the video. I hope you enjoy the process… Always remember YOU are loved.
