A long walk home 10-15-23
Posted Oct 15, 2023

Today I’m easing my way back into more of my normal routine.

It takes time to slow down…. and then it takes time to get back into the swing of things.  I don’t want to go totally back to the breakneck pace I was at but, taking time off always floods me with ideas!

Today’s journal page is just my reflection on the long walk back to myself, to find calm and ease. It’s about the lessons I learned and will constantly work on my whole life.

I meandered around this page with layers and colors, just like I’ve meandered around the last week. Lots of walking, reading and playing.

I’ll share more about it in the video. I hope this project inspires you. And always know that you are loved.

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!
