In this project, I was following my intuition, feeling my way through each brush stroke and mark. Playing, relaxing and just being present, allowing myself to close out the world and just be.
I’m also reminding myself about why I create, and why I show up week after week to share what’s inspiring me. This all started because I was reading Simon Sinek’s book “Start with Why”.
The why of what we do will keep us motivated…keep us searching, learning and growing.. in art and all the other areas of life…
I’ll share some of my why’s and more of how this piece comes together in the video.

Supplies used:
- 14×11 wood panel
- Liquitex fluid matte medium
- Liquitex gesso black and white
- Acrylic paint – unbleached titanium, cobalt teal, dark teal, quin magenta, burnt sienna, olive green,
- Lukas yellow ochre
- Grumbacher raw umber
- Fine line applicator 20 gauge
- Airbrush medium (for fineline applicator)
- General’s charcoal pencil set, Koh-i-noor pastel pencil set, Soho urban artist soft pastels
- 1″ flat brush, fan brush
- Collage paper
