The last thought…………

I had a friend today text me, she said….. this is my new mantra….. open, flowing, soft, inviting, making room and allowing for possibilities……. Then she asked if she could commission me to create a piece around that mantra.  I am in love with her words…. every bit of it…. especially making room… and allowing for possibilities.  It’s is a breath of life to me to hear of someone moving toward, growing, taking a look into the deep and doing the work it takes to get rid of the old, get stuff out of the way, to make room for the good!  Transition is hard, but always constant in life, I really believe that change does two things depending on our mindset…. It can give us the kick in the ass to get moving, it inspires us, it motivates, it wakes us up or …….  (2) it stresses us, depresses us and it digs a hole for us that we crawl into, it brings on regrets and guilt and causes us to hide.  I know we all have seasons that it seems that times are hard…. but don’t stay in a yucky mind set…. break out, break free!   use change and transitions in life to create a new perspective, a new mantra, a whole new kick ass kinda you!….. and make room for some remarkable possibilities!

You are loved!

Hello there! I’m Shawn Petite

I’ve been teaching and creating for well over 25 years. About 15 years ago I found my art soul mate in mixed media, and it changed my life! I love the story that can be told by combining paint, texture, ink, paper and—really anything that you can imagine.

But what I’m truly passionate about is being your guide, walking with you step by step and helping you become your own hero in your creative journey.

Along my path, I’ve learned that the creating art also creates a healing space. Life can be messy and complicated and painful, but something about a paint brush can help heal your soul. I believe—no, I know—you are worthy of love, and I want to teach you to know that about yourself. Join me on this journey of art and inspiration!
